Madolyn May Alt

Madolyn May (Shirk) Alt, age 72, passed Saturday, March 23 at her home in Hershey. She was the daughter of the late Harold A. Shirk and Miriam E. (Bross) (Shirk) Light. Madolyn was a 1969 graduate of Northern Lebanon High School and was looking forward to her 55th reunion. She was a long-time employee (42 years) of Redner's Markets, both at the Quick Stop in Fredericksburg and the Fuel Island at Palmyra locations as manager of both. Madolyn was an avid pool player and involved in league play. Madolyn was a motorcycle owner and was a member of the Lebanon Valley Motorcycle Club. Madolyn loved music and could often be found at the Fredericksburg American Legion (where she was a member) on Friday or Saturday nights dancing to the "oldies". Madolyn also loved being in the mountains and her favorite place to vacation was Lake George, New York, where her ashes will be laid to rest. She was a friend to many and had a good heart. Madolyn is survived by her daughter Tara Houde. She is preceded in death by her brother Jerry, and her cat (she was a cat lover) Kit-Kat. A Celebration of Life is planned for this summer and will be announced at a later date.
