Paul E. Sovar, 86, Lebanon, passed away on Monday June 30, 2025 in Linden Village. He was the husband of the late Rosalie Sovar. Paul was born in Harrisburg on August 12, 1938, a son of the late Paul Edwin and Catherine M. Sell Sovar. He was retired from the Lebanon Bethlehem Steel Company and had worked in the nuts and bolts department most of his working career. He also had worked at the Lebanon Welfare Office for ten years. He was a big sports fan and enjoyed going to Penn State games. He served for four years in the U.S. Air Force and two years in the Army Reserves. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature from Lebanon Valley College at the age of 50. He loved music and loved to read and write. He wrote a large amount of poetry and had some Haiku published. He is survived by children: Kathleen M. Nash, Dianne L. wife of Michael Schramm, Elizabeth A. Spitler, Paul E. Sovar, Jr., Sean E. Gensler and wife Christi, step-children: Linda Rittenhouse and Julie Empson as well as 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by siblings: Dorothy Sovar, Ronald Sovar, Kathleen I. Gensler, Gloria Sellers, Marlin Zimmerman, Marvin Zimmerman, Steven Sovar as well as a nephew: Frank Roth and grandson: Joseph Marko. Funeral services will be held Monday July 7, 2025 at 10:00am in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042 with a viewing from 9:00 am until the time of service. Interment with full military honors will be in Grand View Memorial Park.
