Robert L Grimes

Robert Leroy Grimes, 88, of Cornwall Manor, Cornwall, PA passed away Friday, January 1st, 2016. He was born on October 8th, 1927 in Lebanon, a son of the late Charles and Hazel Brown Grimes. Robert was the husband of Mildred N. Dinning for 66 years. Mr. Grimes was employed as a U.S. Postal Clerk for 39 years and 9 months where he retired in October 1978 and then went on to work with his son Robert and grandson Andrew in their remodeling business R. Grimes & Son Carpentry. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman Second Class USNR aboard the USS AARON Ward (DM34). He loved to: play golf and taught his brothers, sons and grandsons how to play. He also loved spending time with his family: wife, sons and grandchildren and taking them all on vacations. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons: Robert N, husband of Kim M. Grimes, Lebanon and Gary L, husband of Catherine E. Grimes, Frederick, MD; grandchildren: Matthew R. Grimes; Kelly A, wife of Andrew Brown; Laura M. Grimes; Adam R, husband of Cathy Grimes; Andrew N, husband of Jenna Grimes; great grandchildren: Henry and Caitlin Brown; Nicholas and Emma Grimes; brothers: Richard, husband of Anna Mae, Cornwall; Daniel, husband of Patricia Grimes, Lititz; sisters: Ethel wife of Samuel Youse, Lancaster and Jeanette, wife of Robert Heim, Annville ; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in the Church of the Good Shepherd UM, 1500 Quentin Rd, Lebanon, PA., 17042 on Friday, January 8th, 2016 at 12:30PM. Interment will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Robert’s to his church or Cornwall Manor Benevolent Fund, P.O.
