

Steven M. Deutsch, 92, of Laurel Place in Cornwall died Saturday, April 13, 2013 in the Lebanon V.A. Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Pauline V. Perini Deutsch. He was born on October 4, 1920, son of the late John and Anna Deutsch. He was a 1938 graduate of Cornwall High School and retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. as a salesman in California. He was a retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. having served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was decorated with the Air Medal w/2 Gold Stars, Distinguished Flying Cross, Presidential Unit Citation w/1 Bronze Star, Navy Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal w/2 Silver Stars, American Campaign Medal w/5 Bronze Stars, Victory Medal, WWII, National Defense Service Medal w/1 Bronze Star, Korean Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device, Combat Aircrew Insignia w/3 Gold Stars, P.U.C w/1 star, Asiatic –PAC Medal and the American Theatre Medal. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Annville American Legion. His hobbies included golfing, needlepoint and woodworking. Mr. Deutsch was the last of his immediate family. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ Catholic Church, 2596 Cornwall Rd, Cornwall where a viewing will be held in the Parish Center at 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be made in Holy Savior Cemetery, Cornwall with full military honors provided by the Lebanon V.F.W. Post #23.
