Adam was a proud father to his son, Keagan (Jordan). While Adam’s gruff nature didn’t always make things easy, there was never a doubt that he loved his son deeply and was immensely proud of the man he was becoming.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Donna; his sisters, Gail (Scott) and their children: Caitlin, Seth, and Atli; Susan (Mike); Linda (Kyle) and their son Ethan; and Rebecca (Jon); who will forever cherish his memory. Adam was predeceased by his father, Mark.
Adam grew up in Saskatchewan alongside his four sisters, where he was lovingly tormented as the only boy in the family. Being part of such a large and lively extended family meant that everyone has a story, a memory, or a moment where Adam brought laughter to the room. Those memories remain a lasting reminder of the joy he brought to the people around him.
Adam was known for his huge heart, unwavering loyalty, and the kind of generosity that would see him give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Though he could come across as tough at first, those who knew him best knew he was truly a teddy bear; someone who cared deeply and, though he rarely showed his love with words, he was quick to action when needed.
Adam also carried an incredible work ethic. Especially in recent years, he worked as hard as time would allow, and then just a little bit harder. Through his work he built strong connections in the community in Nisku, and the family is immensely grateful for the friendships and support that came from those relationships.
To many he was also known by the nicknames “Butch” and “Garçon,” names that reflected the many sides of his personality and the affection of those who knew him well.
Though Adam’s passing was sudden, his legacy will live on through the many people whose lives he touched. Sometimes it is only in loss that the depth of love for a person becomes fully known, and Adam was deeply loved by many.
A celebration of Adam’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Adam’s name to the Mental Health Foundation of Alberta are gratefully appreciated.
