Surrounded by family, Aline peacefully slipped into the arms of her Lord
early Tuesday morning. Just two weeks prior, she had been honoured at her
90th birthday party where her long life had been commemorated and
celebrated. Aline was the 4th child in a family of 9 and was the first daughter.
The bond between father and daughter was instant; she was the apple of his eye and she in turn adored him.
She grew up being her mother’s right hand as she learned the skills of motherhood and homemaking.
A brilliant child, Aline started school a few weeks after her 5th birthday and graduated at the top of her class as a 16 year old.
She continued her education to become a school teacher.
Aline met Donat, a young man who had moved into town with his family from Saskatchewan.
They were soon married and spent nearly 60 years together, having a beautiful family of 11 children – 8 girls and 3 boys!
Aline’s first love was God. She was devout and dedicated to her faith and it provided her the necessary strength
to navigate the many challenges of life. It was the foundation of her children’s upbringing.
She was also passionately committed to her family and in spite of the magnitude of work involved in raising such a large family,
Aline was content and truly loved being a mom. Although Pincher Creek is where she was born and lived most of her life,
Donat and Aline spent their last years in Leduc.
Aline was predeceased by her husband Donat, son-in-law David Williams and grandson Marcel L’Abbee.
She is survived by her children: Bernadette Pelletier (Jean Jacques), Aline Stasiewich (David), Lionnette Williams,
Remi Pelletier (Debra), Colette Stasiewich (James), Corinne Viens (Dennis), Jean Claude Pelletier (Barb),
Gisele L’Abbee (Carol), Jinette Savoie (Claude), Dorianne Turner (Kevin) and Gerard Pelletier (Vanessa),
as well as 35 grandchildren and 47 greatgrandchildren.
Aline and her wonderful ways of making everyone feel special will be sadly missed.
