It is with sadness that his family announces the death of Edward Pawlyk of Edmonton, AB formerly of Thorsby and Calmar, AB.
Ed leaves to mourn his loving wife of 40 years Myrtle, his sons Phil, Rick (Sharon), Russ (Lenore), sister Olga, along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Ed was predeceased by his parents Bill and Rose, brothers Andrew and Oris.
Ed worked on his farm, oilfields of Devon, and the camp trailers for the Northern work camps.
After Ed retired, his love of music took over; being the last of the “three Ed’s” who played music at many functions over fifty years, “jams” were a favorite pastime. Anywhere there was a “jam” Ed would be playing his violin. As he would say “just fiddling around.”
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday May 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Ascension Russo-Orthodox Church, Calmar, AB (5 miles West of Calmar on Highway 39, turn right at RR275,then 2 miles North). The Very Reverend Igor Kisil officiating.
Interment to follow in church cemetery, Calmar, AB. Fellowship at Wilton Park Hall, 1 mile North of Church.
Memorial Donations in Ed’s name may be made to Holy Ascension Russo-Orthodox Church.
