Lena Kirchner

On January 30, 2014 a gentle soul slipped away to join her dearly missed husband.

Lena Kirchner, formerly of Telfordville, AB, passed away at the age of 93 years in Salem Manor of Leduc with her daughter at her side.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Barbara Smith of Tualatin, Oregon and Marlene (Sam) Kobeluck of Thorsby, AB.; two grand-daughters: Pamela (Dean) Gitzel of Thorsby, and Shelley (Blair) Kuzio of Lamont, AB.; four great grand-children: Joshua and Megan Gitzel, and Hunter and Zachary Kuzio; two sisters: Esther Cartwright of Calgary and Mabel MacDonald of Edmonton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lena was predeceased by her husband, Garry on Dec. 18, 2013, her parents Henry and Christina (Schnell) Henkel, brothers: Harry, George and Henry; sisters: Marie Hilzer and Elizabeth Kyle, son-in-law William Smith and her two best friends Bruno and Rena Kirchner.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Thorsby on Friday Feb. 7th, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in Telfordville Church Cemetery.
