Adopted by Cecil and Marie June, Maxine grew up on a small farm west of Edmonton in the farming community of Magnolia. That place remained forever close to her heart. She cherished memories of walking barefoot through the farm fields, singing to the cows, and enjoying the people and the land that brought her comfort and joy.
Her deep love for the mountains, forests, rivers, and the wide-open farmland made Alberta the perfect home for her. Over the years, Maxine worked throughout the province in construction camps, hospitals, and various restaurants, building many friendships and collecting countless memories along the way.
Maxine was known as a bright light to everyone who knew her. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring sister and daughter, and a loyal friend. Her seemingly endless love, infectious laughter, and warm spirit brought comfort and happiness to those around her. Her commitment to family, friends, and her beliefs was unwavering. She faced life’s challenges with a steadfast determination that inspired all who knew her.
She is lovingly remembered and survived by her brother Lavern June; her sons Trevor (Tenniel) and Arik (Azlyn); and her cherished granddaughter Abby. She is also remembered by her newly found siblings Linda and Lyle, as well as sister-in-law Debby.
Maxine was predeceased by her beloved son Devron; her parents, Cecil and Marie June; and her husband, Alan Krause. She was also predeceased by her newly discovered brother Phill.
Maxine’s loss will be deeply felt by all who knew her. Though her light has dimmed from our lives, the memories she gave us - her laughter, joy, and radiant smile - will continue to brighten our days. The best way to honor her is to carry that brightness forward and share it with others, just as she always did.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Hainstock & Son Funeral Chapel, 4802 – 47 Avenue, Leduc, AB.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
