Michael Zukowski

Mike was born in Krakow, Poland on January 25, 1922.

He immigrated to Canada from Poland in 1930 accompanied by his sister (Rose) and his mother (Antonio).

Two years later Mike’s father (Joe) joined the family in Canada. They settled on a farm in the Sunnybrook area.

Mike was married to Stella on July 14, 1949

Mike worked hauling power poles and water in the early years while building up his farm which was close to his parents in the Sunnybrook area.

He enjoyed operating and participating in a Ham radio club during his life. Talking and meeting people worldwide.

Mike grain farmed and continued to build the farm into a productive and active Dairy farm.

Mike is survived by his 9 children: Dianne Lemire (Roger), Joan Lambert, Dwayne Zukowski (Donna), Irene Rourke,

Anita Zukowski, Geri Turcotte, Randy Zukowski (Janice), Shelley Teufel (Bob), and Donna Tipper (Greg),

19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grand children

and 6 siblings: Rose Cender, Hellen Huybens, Joe Zukowski, Bob Zukowski, Edward Zukowski, Henry Zukowski

Mike is preceded in death by his wife Stella (2006), son James Zukowski (2002), grand son Blaire Rourke (2015),

brother John Zukowski and parents Joe and Antonio (Anne) Zukowski.

Prayer Service to be held at Our Lady of Victory Church, Thorsby, AB, on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 7:00 pm.

Funeral Mass will take place at the same location on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (www.lbda.org) would be greatly appreciated.
