

In her eighty-seventh year, Wenonah (Nonnie) Eleanor Tees of Leduc, second daughter of Gordon Alexander Thomson and Florence Elizabeth (Dobson)Thomson, Toronto, born September 18, 1928, passed away October 28, 2015 at Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton, of hip replacement surgery complications.
Mrs. Tees was predeceased by her great love and husband of sixty-two years, Gregor Donald Tees in 2009, son-in-law Jim Smith in 2002, and her baby granddaughter and namesake Meaghan Jacqueline Eleanor Smith in 1979.
She is survived by: her children, Sandra Smith, Douglas Tees and Richard Tees; grandchildren Christine (Cory) Adam of Ponoka, Mike Smith and Jeff Tees, both of Edmonton, Sarah Weedon (Yonas Ayele) of Calgary; great grandsons Quinton Adam and Matthew Ayele; sister Isobel Colton of Richmond Hill; sister-in-law Pauline Coyne of Sault Ste. Marie, ON and many other relatives and friends.
Her family wishes to acknowledge and thank the doctors, nurses and support staff of RAH and OSC who during her extended stay were always pleasant, very competent, extremely kind and whom we felt, without exception, treated our beloved Mom and Grandma as though she was their own. We are grateful.
A Memorial Service will be held at Salem Mews, Twilight Room, 4421 – 46 Street, Leduc, AB on Saturday November 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
Memorial Donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Floral Tributes will be gratefully accepted at the funeral home.
