Born in Australia on June 20, 1935, the daughter of Leonard and Cecily Bushell, Yvonne was raised in the Blue Mountains with her siblings June, Kenneth, Neville, and little sister Maryanne. Yvonne’s adventurous spirit often led her far from home. In 1964, while working for Trans-Australian Airlines, she made the courageous decision to migrate to Canada - a journey that would shape the rest of her life.
Soon after arriving in Canada, Yvonne met the love of her life, Edward, at a ballroom dance. Their shared passion for dancing became a defining thread of their marriage. They married in 1966 and built a life grounded in family, faith, hard work, and the simple joy of moving in harmony.
In 1968, Yvonne and Edward moved from Edmonton and purchased their first home in Leduc. It was there that their family grew from two children to six: Maria (David), Lisa (Vadim), Vincent (Katrine), Mark (Linda), Andre’, and Dominic. Their home was a place of warmth, laughter, and unwavering support, reflecting Yvonne’s beautiful free-spirited nature, quick wit, and devotion to her family.
Yvonne lived her life with kindness, vibrancy, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew her. She is lovingly remembered by her children; her grandchildren: Christian, Vladymir, Aleks, Kalyna, Sam (Victoria), Sage, and Edward; and her great-grandchildren, Peregrine and Lark. Sadly, Yvonne was predeceased by her infant son, Andre’, her husband and dance partner, Edward, her siblings June and Kenneth, and most recently, her dear cousin, Lance.
Yvonne’s story is one of courage, grace, and enduring love. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of family and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 11:00AM, on Friday, March 20, 2026, in St. Michael Catholic Church, 5105 45a St, Leduc.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Yvonne’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society of Alberta or to the Sturgeon Community Hospital Foundation are welcomed.
