Betty Jo Patterson, age 90, She was a member of Odenville United Methodist Church. She loved the Lord. Psalm 113:3 “From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.”
Betty absolutely loved her flowers. All her boys got their green thumbs from their mother. In her beautiful flower garden, she held her granddaughter, Laura’s wedding, and her great grandkids prom pictures, plus pictures of her great great grandbabies. You better not pick Granny’s flowers though!
She loved Christmas. You couldn’t miss the big Santa in the living room. Betty had a Christmas tree in every room, including bathrooms year-round, and multiple outside. She loved a good road trip, and always came home with something Christmas, whether she needed it or not. She needed it...
You could always catch Betty at the local Jack’s in Odenville most mornings, especially before she went to yard sales. She loved going shopping, another one's stuff was always her treasure! If Granny thought you could use it or she could add it to her collection, she bought it.
Betty took pride in her boys; she bragged on them and loved them so much. She loved all her family and friends with all her heart. Mom, you have been the best mother, we love you with all our hearts. Granny, we love you so much, and you have been the best grandmother. She was a remarkable woman.
Proverbs 3:5-6 commands, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, DJ Patterson; brothers, Junior Brittain and Coley Brittain, and best friend Bonnie Brashier.
