

Bettye Jean Frink, aged 92, passed away on November 24, 2025, in Birmingham, Alabama. Born on February 19, 1933, Bettye dedicated much of her life to public service, notably serving as the Alabama State Auditor from 1963 to 1967 and again from 1975 to 1983, as well as the Secretary of State of Alabama from 1959 to 1963.
Bettye was a member of the Branchville Church, where she embraced her faith and community. She found joy in gardening, often spending hours tending to her yard, which was a testament to her love for nature and the outdoors.
Bettye leaves behind a loving family, including her daughter Bettye Boartfield and husband Paul; son William Frink Jr. and wife Pranee; grandchildren Ryan Tadeo, Josh Boartfield, Christine Wolfe, Matt Vogt, Leland Frink, Beth Frink, Kesvadee Manuel, Kanhaa Funaki, Charlie Frink, John Frink, Tracy Frink, Casey Browning, Victoria Steffens, Truman Steffens, Jona Frink; and great-grandchildren Trey Christian, John Dylan, Laileen Manuel, Natalynn Manuel, Josie Vogt, Joellen Vogt, Aaliyah Manuel, Lamar Frink, and Levi Frink. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband William Frink Sr., sons Victor Frink and David Frink (stepson), daughter Leigh Frink, and granddaughters Victoria and Veronica Frink.
A visitation will be held at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds, Alabama, December 7th, 2025 at 1 pm, followed by a service at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Jimmy Hale Mission in Birmingham, Alabama honoring her spirit of community and care.
