Danny Spence

Danny was born on July 24, 1956 in Birmingham, AL to Lema Inez and John Calvin Spence. Danny attended Springville High School.

Danny worked as a truck driver, plumber and a pipe fitter for approximately 45 years. During that time he met the love of his life Kelly Spence in Moody, AL on October 7, 1977. They married May 26,1978 and were blessed to have three loving children, Jennifer, Michael and Stephanie. He retired from Hardy Corporation on July 15, 2018.

Danny enjoyed fishing, especially deep sea fishing, barbecuing, watching football and Nascar racing, watching westerns and growing a garden. But the most important and what meant the most to Danny was spending time with his loving family. Nothing meant more to him than that.

Danny was preceded in death by his brother Bill Spence (wife Sue) and sister Shelby Jean McMillon (husband Uncle Mac), his father John Calvin Spence, his mother Lema Inez Spence and his grandparents.

Danny is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kelly Spence, his son Michael Spence (wife Kelly Spence), daughters Jennifer Rivera and Stephanie Day (husband Ronnie Day); his grandchildren, Austin Jackson, Josie Day, Sam Day, Zoey Spence, Lydia Spence, Randy Spence, Andrew Spence, Brooklynn Spence, Aaron Spence and Elizabeth Spence; and his brother Jimmy Spence.

Memorial Services will be held at Kilgroe Funeral Home, 1750 Ashville Rd, Leeds, AL 35094 on Saturday February 12, 2022 at 1pm.
