fight and having finished the course, entered the eternal presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 3, 2010. To God be the glory! Amen.
Her grace and vibrant attitude in her fight with cancer inspired and gave courage to fellow cancer patients, family, friends, hospital personnel, and strangers. She shared with all of them her love for our Lord who gave her that grace and courage. She never shed a tear over her cancer, never complained, and never feared death. The joy of the Lord was her strength.
Gail grew up in Cambridge, NY, and attended Cambridge Central High School through her junior year. In 1956 she graduated from Bob Jones Academy. She received her BA degree from Bob Jones University in 1961 and her MEd degree from the University of Montevallo in 1977.
Gail was a gifted teacher, musician and note writer. Her teaching career spanned 35 years, with service at Pensacola Christian School, Alliance Christian School in Birmingham, Ragland Elementary School, and Odenville Schools. She taught Sunday School at Bethel Baptist and at Friendship Baptist, sharing her love for the Word of God. Her hymn playing was a blessing at both churches. God especially gifted her with the ability to write a note with the right words and fitting Scripture verses that met whatever need was at hand. She was an amazing lady, and our world is a better place for her having lived among us.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Whitten; daughter, Miriam Whitten, Houston, TX; sister, Elizabeth (Ben) Borisuk, Middlesex, NY; brothers, Boyce (Jean) McGeoch, Ringwood, NJ, and Nelson (Joy) McGeoch, Plainfield, IL; and her Uncle George (Charlotte) McGeoch, Cambridge, NY; nieces, nephews, and countless numbers of former students and friends.
The family expresses grateful thanks to Dr. John T. We also thank the Transport, Housekeeping, Food Services for their kindness, concern and cheerful greetings. Her life was blessed by each of you.
