We are so sorry for your loss.  My daughter was a member of the MHS band several years ago and thought so much of your son. We also looked forward to waving at him as we passed by your home.  My nephew, Kyle Isbell, who used to live in the neighborhood would ask about him every time we spoke.  He was such a blessing to so many.  He will be missed.

Gentry's life and his passing has touched countless lives including my own. My heart is heavy in Gentry's passing, but I am so thankful that he knew, loved and served his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and is with him today! Gentry was my buddy. I have till this day two pictures of he and I in my office and will always cherish them, as well as the fellowship, friendship, and great times we shared while I lived and served in Leeds at First Baptist. God bless you Gayle and your family. My love and continued prayers are with you, including Leeds First Baptist, and the Moody community, especially the high school that Gentry loved so much!

I'm so sorry that Gentry's gone, but I'm still more sorry that more people didn't have the opportunity to meet him in their lives. I was a member of the Moody High School marching band, and one of the best traditions I got to be a part of was having Hot Stuff come into the band room to give his prediction for the game. He was always optimistic, and always predicted a win. Usually by a landslide. His speeches often ended with the same cheer and joke: "Who's gonna win?" "Moody!" "Who's number one?" "Moody!" "No! Hot Stuff is number one." He loved to lead the band into the stadium, and I can't help but think how fitting it's going to be when he meets us at the gates of heaven to lead us all inside. My favorite part about Gentry was how his open love and optimism spread. I saw people who were jerks throughout the week talking to and about Hot Stuff with respect and who would have defended him should anyone try to talk down about him. People who had had terrible days would suddenly brighten up because Hot Stuff had shown up, and he always brought with him the same unspoken message: 'Things are always going to be okay. If not this time, next time. If not now, soon.' It's hard to think about my memories of him and not smile; it's what he brought to the world. At the football games I had a perfect view of him on the sidelines: dancing with the cheerleaders and talking to the people who stopped by to say hi. Every person he interacted with had one thing in common: they all walked away with a smile. Win or lose, rain or shine. Gentry touched the lives of so many people, and we are all of us lucky. The world could use more of the love and joy he gave. I haven't been back to the high school in years, but Hot Stuff still crosses my mind from time to time. And I smile.

Gentry was perhaps the most loving person I have ever known and brought joy to many people during his time on earth.  He was indeed a spiritual giant in demonstrating love and Christlikeness to others.  May God bless, comfort and strengthen the family with His awesome presence and peace in the days to come.

From the first moment I met Gentry in 1987, his smile captured my heart. He was such a joy to be around, and such a warm heart. He will be greatly missed.  Many prayers for you and your family through the healing process.  Just know that Gentry is smiling down upon you.

I know you are at the feet of Jesus and your Papa and Granny are so happy to see you.  What a joy to know you can keep singing and praising Jesus and never suffer again. Sweet Gentry will be missed. We enjoyed serving Wednesday night suppers with you, singing in choir, and birthday phone calls. If we could all be more serving like Gentry!

We keep you in our heart and prayers through your loss.  Gentry was a truly gentle soul and the spirit of Moody.  We came to know Gentry "Hot Stuff" Jordan through the years of Moody High School Band program when my daughters were in band.  We looked forward to his predictions every week  and were so proud to have him a part of our program.  Thank you for sharing him with us and for God's grace in letting us get to know him as he will always be in our hearts with his band hat and hot stuff flag cheering on the football team and the band students!

Our loss is Heaven's gain! What a sweet sweet man.Always had a hug for everyone every Wednesday and Sunday. His sweet sweet voice echoed through the sanctuary every Sunday. I will always remember how he kept Bro.Ray on schedule on Wednesday nights. I am certain my daddy welcomed him with open arms when he arrived. My daddy loved this guy so much!
