

Jack Henry Peacock was born on January 26, 1935 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Grace Marie Locke and Henry Nowling. He attended Blountstown High School and was graduated in 1953. His graduating class continued to hold class reunions until the early 2010s and they remain very close.
After graduating high school, Jack joined the National Guard and ultimately joined the US Army in military intelligence. He was stationed for two years at USASA Field Station Helemano in Hawaii with the 8605th AAU. Upon his release from the military, Jack settled in Tallahassee and attended Florida State University on the GI Bill. He was graduated in 1973 with a double major in Industrial Management and Accounting with a double minor in Journalism and History. Jack remained a huge fan of the Florida State Seminoles throughout the remainder of his life.
Jack lived in several places, ultimately settling in Leeds, Alabama to live with his daughter and son-in law. He became an active and faithful member of the Leeds First Methodist Church.
Jack is survived by his daughters Debra Burley (Dan), Rebecca McManus (Scott). Three grandchildren, Lee Burley (Kari), Christopher Burley (Anna), Jordyn McManus (Wesley Cornelius). Four great-grandchildren, Michael Burley, Marleigh Burley, Ridge Crawford, Elliott Jack Burley. He is also survived by and very close to his niece Margaret Locke and nephew Kenneth Peacock.
Jack loved his family, loved his high school graduating class, loved his 8605th unit, and his church and he will be missed by all his family and friends.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Kilgroe Funeral Home, Leeds beginning at 11:00AM with a military honors service to be held at the Alabama National Cemetery beginning at 2:00PM.
