James Cargile

James Dewey Cargile, age 69, of Moody, Alabama was born on September 18, 1953, in Birmingham, AL. Jimmy was reunited with his family members in heaven on March 1st, 2023. Jimmy was a compassionate, kind hearted, and fun loving soul. Jimmy utilized his athleticism and love of sports by running track for Jefferson State as well as participating on the Stockham Valves and Fittings softball team where he would eventually retire from. Jimmy will perhaps be most notably remembered for his love for music and his musicianship. He loved playing his music for friends, family, and even strangers; either on his own, or with his band, Tres - The Jimmy Cargile Band. Jimmy was an avid Alabama Football fan, loved the beach, and loved his animals. More than anything, he loved his family and especially his children. He was a kind, thoughtful, and fiercely loyal father.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Coston Clarence and Annie Abercrombie Cargile, his wife, Vicki Holcomb Cargile, his brother, Jerry Lynn Cargile and sister-in-law Paula Hubbard Cargile. Jimmy is survived by his children, Maci Marie Cargile and William Jameson Cargile, his brother John-Wayne Cargile, sisters in law,Rejeana (Brian) Holcomb Hansard, Nancy Ingram Cargile and Talese (Billy) Holcomb Berry, nephews, Jason Cargile and Jonathan Cargile (Tiffany), Dustin Brooks (Jessica), Cooper and Cash Berry, niece, Kensey Wheat (James), great nephews, Brooks Wheat, Van Brooks, and great nieces, Marleigh Ana Cargile and Nola Brooks.

The family will receive guests on Monday, March 6th, 2023 for a visitation from 11a.m.-12p.m. followed by a funeral service at 12p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds, Alabama. There will be a graveside service immediately following at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Boaz, Alabama.
