Jessie Lee Wilson Turner

Jessie Lee Wilson Turner (89) passed away on March 24, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Turner, in 2003, and son-in-law, Bruce Payton. She is survived by their children: Karen Byers (Jimmy), Rhonda Payton, Donna Turner, and Henry Turner, Jr. (Candice), eight grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.

Jessie was born February 24, 1934, in Margaret, Alabama, to L.B. "Fate" Wilson and Alta Peoples Wilson. She attended schools in St. Clair County and married Henry Turner January 20, 1950. Their family moved to the Acmar Community in 1956 where she found a lifetime of wonderful friends and a place she vowed she would never leave. She began working part-time at the Acmar Post Office in the late 1960's and worked through the postal system, eventually becoming Postmaster at the Alton Post Office before retiring on 1992. Jessie loved flowers, jewelry, and beautiful glass, but most of all her family. She was a long-time member of Acmar United Methodist Church.

A visitation will be held on Monday March 27th, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 AM from the Chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds, Alabama with a funeral service to follow at 11:00AM. Burial will be at Forest Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Acmar United Methodist Church,
