Jim and I shared many good times together during our working years at
American Foundation. We hunted ducks in Arkansas with Jim Newll and always
had a good time. Jimmy loved to sing and we had fun singing as we drove along the highway. He will be missed. Manley Denton

A wonderful friend of mine, Jimmy Burton, passed away night before last. Funny, genuine, sincere, a fellow Warbler, family man, always there for his friends and family, Christian, Music Minister, devoted husband, father, grandfather, compassionate, gruff, opinionated, proud "old fogey," lover of life, a true blessing to know. He will be deeply missed. Please pray for Ann, Scott, and his family-that their grief for their loss will be eased by the knowledge of where he is and the joy he is experiencing right now.

One could have no better friend than Jim Burton! He will be missed by those many friends and his dear family.

Jim and Ann have been close personal friends of ours for many years.  We shared lots of good moments together, at work and in retirement.  I loved getting  those phone calls out of the blue when he decided to share something, mostly about U of A, with me.  He was my friend in every sense of the word and I will miss him terribly.

It was a sad day when I got the call from Scott.  Ann, my thoughts are with you both in this sad time.  Our friendship was made over many years.  I will always smile when I think of Jim and his humor.  I always enjoyed his calls...he always called me by my last name....I would answer the phone; Ed Gilger, can I help you and he always said in his booming voice GILGER and off he went.

I have lost a dear friend and a valued advisor.
