Lillie Kilgore

Lillie Ruth Brimer Kilgore, age 87, of Moody, AL passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023. Lillie is survived by her son Stuart Kilgore (Heather), daughter Cathy Kilgore Schmidt (George) and sister Barbara Beason, grandchildren Noah Sanchez (Rachel), Spencer Kilgore and Lauren Kilgore, great-grandchildren Oscar, Hynsley and Rosey and numerous nieces and nephews. Lillie was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Bessie Brimer, husband Lamar Kilgore, sisters Frances, Dorothy, Kathleen and brothers Charles and Howard Jr. and her son Johnny Kilgore.

Lillie was born and raised in Cleburne County, Alabama and went on to live in Florida, New York, Colorado and San Jose, California until she returned to Anniston, AL where she worked at Kitchin's retail store. She was an active, loving mother who led Scout troops, attended sports games and school activities while raising three children. She was a caring grandmother who generously babysat her grandchildren while keeping them entertained with songs from her childhood & playtime. She enjoyed time with her large extended family and was a proud Aunt of her nieces and nephews, many of whom she babysat over the years. She had a love for baseball and was raised playing sports along with her siblings. She was an avid bowler during her time in New York and Colorado Springs. She enjoyed board games, completing puzzles, arts & crafts and traveling with her sisters.

A private family memorial will be held later this fall.
