Marie Gallagher

Mary Catherine (Marie) Gallagher, née Hennigan, born in Ballygar, County Galway, Ireland on May 17th, 1937, passed peacefully on February 11th, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. Marie emigrated to America in 1959 and lived in New York City, Long Island, Roswell, Georgia, and Birmingham, Alabama. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Kevin M. Gallagher. Beloved sister of Patrick, Leo, and Bertie. Adored mother of James (Tess), Deirdre (Barry), Kevin, Brian (Mugdha), and Conor (Jeanne). Grandmother to Sean (Lindsey), Sam (Brooke), Megan (Cannon II), Jack R., Charles, Henry, Marie Helen, Jack G., Liam, Neel, Matthew, and Jacob.Great-Grandmother to Anna Grace, Nathaniel, Theodore, Shepherd, Josie, Griffin, Gideon, Ruth, Cannon III, and Palmer. She will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 18, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 AM from the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Birmingham, Alabama with a Mass to follow at 11:00AM. Burial will be at 1:00PM from Southern Heritage Cemetery at 475 Cahaba Valley Road Pelham AL, 35124.
