Norman Jack Oakes , age 92, of Leeds, Alabama passed away on Friday, April 10th, 2026. Norman was born May 25th 1933 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He is preceeded in death by his parents, brothers, JC Oakes and Harold Oakes; sisters Laura Peterson and Luverne Jernigan; and his wife Helen Oakes.
He survived by son, Jerry Oakes (Jenny), daughter, Sherryl Adkins, grandson Brandon Rowell (Megan); great - grandchildren, Jack Rowell, Emma Rowell, and Charles Rowell.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of Heritage Place Church of Christ. He was a former elder at Woodlawn and Roebuck Parkway Church of Christ. A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 18th 2026 at 2pm at Deerfoot Church of Christ in Trussville Alabama, with visitation from 1:00 - 2:00PM.
Burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Leeds, Alabama.
