Other than living several years in Center Point when his children were young, Paul Earl lived in Springville the majority of his life. Paul Earl served in the Army National Guard. He worked for Stockham Valve in his younger years and then as an insurance salesman for Liberty National before finally going to work for Sears and Roebuck as a salesman covering home remodels and appliances. He retired from Sears and Roebuck after many years of service. Paul was instrumental in the building of the Springville Youth Baseball Complex in the late 1970’s and was very involved in the organization for many years alongside his wife Faye. The Martin house was always open to the young residents of Springville in the 70’s and 80’s and most of the time the house was overflowing with his children and their friends. Many games of tag football were played on the lawn at the Martin house, which Paul worked hard to keep in perfect condition. Aside from working in his yard, he loved to restore and rebuild old cars, tinker in his basement, and piddle around on his property at Old Springs Road. After retirement Paul was able to devote some of his time to his love for fishing.
