Robert Edward Bray, 84, of Leeds, Alabama, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018. Robert was born in Hollywood, Alabama on August 28, 1933. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for V.J. Elmore for 29 years and retired from Alabama Power Company in 1988. An avid Auburn fan, Robert enjoyed various hobbies over the years including wood working, astronomy, and target shooting.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Robie Bray. He is survived by Imogene Gist Bray, his wife of 62 years; his daughters, Ann Bray DeBellis (Tony) of Irondale and Robin Bray McCrackin (Frank) of Dunlap, IL; grandchildren Claire DeBellis Meads, Anna Leigh DeBellis, Daniel McCrackin, Ryan McCrackin, Jon McCrackin, and great-granddaughter Lydia Meads. He is also survived by his brother James H. Bray of Scottsboro.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to noon at First Baptist Church of Leeds. The service will be held at noon with burial to follow at Forest Crest Cemetery.
