Wanda Joyce Stewart

On May 30, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. Wanda stepped into the arms of her loving Savior. She is survived by her brother Joseph Cale, three daughters: Tina Stewart (Russ), Tammy Lawrence (Tommy), and Tonya Graham. Five Grandchildren: Brett, Jarrett, Jeremy, Alec (Katlyn), Karrson; Great Granddaughter: Emery and a whole host of nieces, nephews, spiritual sons and daughters and friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Willie R. and Ollie Cale, Docena, AL. Brother William R. Cale, Jr. Trussville, AL. and her loving husband of 56 years Pastor John T. Stewart, Odenville, AL

Wanda grew up in Docena, Alabama in a coal mining community. She met the love of her life and married on July 9, 1963. She had a gift with arranging flowers and enjoyed working with her sister in laws at Jeans Flowers. She loved working in her flower beds making sure her yard was beautiful and manicured. Wanda was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. Together with her husband she raised three daughters, she ministered for 50 years alongside her husband as a Pastor’s wife, music minister and together they ministered in the community at Odenville United Methodist Church for over 18 years, in over 10 different denominations, founded FCF Ministries, traveled and did conferences and crusades in Uganda, Trinidad and Bahamas. She led many choirs, wrote and directed several Christmas and Easter Cantatas some of which were major productions. Her passion was for children, teenagers, young adults, and especially women’s ministry. Her heart was pure and full of love and she had enough to go around to all who needed it. She was a true Proverbs 31 woman. We will miss her dearly, but we know and take great comfort that we will see her again.

We would like to thank Lakeside Hospice and their wonderful staff for all of the love and care they gave to mother and our family. You went above and beyond what you are called to do. May God richly bless your lives. We won’t ever forget your compassion.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Kilgroe Funeral Home from 5:00PM until 8:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Kilgroe Funeral Home beginning at 2:00PM with burial to follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
