I've never met any man, anywhere, who, so quickly befriended and became more of an advocate and encourager to me, than Bill Harris.  

My only regret is that I didn't meet Bill until the last year of his life; but I thank God for that brief time and the encouragement he brought my way.

I will always be blessed, remembering Bill.

I'm reminded of a quote by Vance Havner when someone asked him about "the loss" of his wife, to which he replied, "You haven't lost them when you know where they are..."

I look forward to our reunion.

We are very sorry about the loss of a good man, your father & husband.  I have known Bill for a long time.  I remember the days when he would come to the house and get the wrecker for a call.  I miss seeing the wrecker outside waiting on Bill or Daddy to take it on a call.  Those were the good ole' days.  I will miss the big hugs that I would get from Bill when he would see me.  I always got a hug!!  Steve has enjoyed getting to know Bill over the years of us being married.  Bill was a pillar of the church, his work and the community.  He is going to be missed greatly.  I am very appreciative of the chance I had years ago to meet Bill & HUGS!  Keeping each one of you in our prayers.

Dear Janice, Pamela and Bryan:

It is with a heavy heart that I write this to you. My thoughts and prayers have been with you from the beginning of Bills illness. My heart hurts for you all in the loss of a faithful husband and loving father. 

Bill was a friend and mentor that I could go to with any questions and rely on his wisdom to give a thought out answer that I could depend on. He was very quick to call folks into prayer over someone facing surgery or facing serious problems in their family. I admired the way he stepped out on faith in times of trial and how he took leadership in his church as ministry. His willingness to perform any task, from the dirtiest clean up job to standing and leading the church and deacons in the business of the church set him apart from the ordinary man.

I will always remember him as a leader who was not afraid to let his hair down when called on to do so. I remember the time he donned a sheet (diaper) and played cupid. He became a California raisin and danced with us to that song. Yet, he provided the leadership so necessary to see that the church of the living God functioned as it should.

I am so sorry that Linda and I could not be there for you all. I was performing a wedding in Tuscaloosa on Saturday and not able to be at the celebration of his home going. We thought of you and lifted you up in prayer.

I pray that our Great God above will wrap you up in His precious hands and bring you comfort and peace. I know without a doubt that our loss is heavens gain and he has his mansion in glory and many stars in his crown.

If there is ever anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to call on me. You are a very special family to Linda and me.

Mr. Bill was a very special man and I will remember him always for all the assistance that he gave me down through the years at BE&K.  He was a wonderful and extraordinary co-worker. We have had the privilege of getting to know Bill and Jane over the last several years through our dear friends, Brian and Nicki.  We have always been blessed by their generosity and hospitality when spending time with them at the lake.  Bill's love of family and his servant heart was evident from the first time we met him.  We will miss him, but rejoice knowing he was a good and faithful servant.  We will continue to pray for your family.

The Lord is near the brokenhearted; He saves those crushed in spirit. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Weeping lasts for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Psalm 34:15,18: 147:3; 30:5

I have been a friend and coworker of Bill for more than 30 years. He will be missed personally by myself and so many others, and the industry in which he served for most of his career has lost one of it's best. We know that Bill is with his Heavenly Father and is no longer suffering. I continue to lift Bill's entire family up in prayer. May God be with you through this journey. Everytime I saw Bill he would greet me with a smile and ask me how I was.  You could tell he was not asking just to ask but out of genuine condsideration, care, and kindiness.  My love goes out to him, his family, and my family alike.  He will be sincerely missed.
