Doris Jean Pesnell

Leesville, Louisiana – Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Doris Jean Pesnell, 81, will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012, in the Chapel of Hixson Funeral Home, Leesville, Louisiana, with Pastor Terry Ward of Antioch Baptist Church, Leesville, Louisiana.

Mrs. Pesnell was born January 22, 1931 in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the late Isaac Newton Robertson and Effie Martin Robertson and was called to her Heavenly home September 15, 2012, in Leesville, Louisiana. She enjoyed Gardening in her flower beds, quilting and reading. Mrs. Pesnell had a love for all animals especially cats. Her greatest love was her family and friends. Mrs. Pesnell will be greatly missed for the kind compassionate person she was.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister; Florence Elizabeth Dillard.

Left to cherish the most treasured memories of Mrs. Pesnell will be her two sons; John Gregory Pesnell and wife Suzan of San Antonio, Texas, and Robert Isaac Percy Pesnell and wife Cathy of Dayton, Texas, three daughters; Carol Sue Stewart and husband Ron of Scottsdale, Arizona, Gerri Lynn Pesnell, of Conroe, Texas, and Tonya Pesnell Cantu and husband Robert of Houston, Texas, five sisters; Vivian O’Haver of Leesville, Louisiana, Marie Brakebill of Little Rock, Arkansas, Patsy Robertson Turner of Leesville, Louisiana, Betty Robertson Dyson of Leesville, Louisiana, and Kathy Ogden of Freeport, Texas, seven brothers; James Robert Robertson of Pine Island, Florida, James Henry Robertson of Leesville, Louisiana, Billy Joe Robertson of Leesville, Louisiana, Robert Wayne Robertson of Leesville, Louisiana, Thomas Dillard of Cleveland, Texas, Earl Dillard of Downsville, Louisiana, and Edward Dillard of West Monroe, Louisiana, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren amongst numerous family members many great friends.
