Norman Dewayne Johnson

Services for Norman DeWayne Johnson will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville with visitation 3pm-8pm Sunday March 23, 2014 and funeral service Monday March 24, 2014 at 10 am. Burial will follow at Cooper Cemetery.

Norman “DeWayne” Johnson was born February 12, 1941 in Pickering, LA to Loyce Jeane Johnson. He passed from this world on March 20, 2014 in the comfort of his home. He was a lifelong resident of Vernon Parish. He was a 1959 graduate of Pickering High School. After graduation he joined the United States Navy. He worked as an Electrician for 49 years and owned his own business. He was an avid sports fan and loved to watch all of his grandchildren play ball.

He leaves behind his wife of 49 years Judy Johnson. Son, Michael Johnson and wife Kathy of Anacoco, LA; 3 daughters, DeAidra Harvey and husband David of Anacoco, LA, Denise Brewer of Elysian Fields, TX, Ashley Busby of Leesville, LA. He was blessed with 18 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, David Johnson of Texas, Dennie Johnson and wife Carol of Oklahoma, Dewey Johnson of Leesville; two sisters, Doris Rhyder and husband Jack of Pennsylvania, Dorothy Jantzen and husband Les of Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his mother Loyce Johnson and son-in -law Robert Brewer.
