Irene Mary Kirby

Irene Kirby was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island in 1918. She passed away peacefully on August 6, 2014 in San Diego, California at the age of 95 years.

Irene grew up in Albany, NY and married her high school sweetheart, Clifford Kirby in 1941. After WWII they travelled west and built their home in Lemon Grove, CA. She had three sons, Bob, Jim and Rick and worked 15 years as a secretary for S.D. Community Colleges.

She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for her faith in God, her generosity and the special sweetness and love she gave to everyone close to her.

Irene is survived by her son Rick Kirby and daughter-in-law Tina Quint; and by 2 nieces Toni Jensen and Karen Allen.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Lemon Grove on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 10 a.m.

Blessed are those who have died in the Lord; let them rest from their labors for their good deeds go with them.

Eternal rest grant unto Irene, O Lord.

And let perpetual light shine upon her.

May she rest in peace. Amen.

May her soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, Rest in Peace. Amen.
