Alpha Lee "Dude" Carswell

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Peggy (Coffey) Carswell, daughter, Tyra Murphy and husband Grady of Cleveland, Tn., two grandchildren Jenna Murphy Middleton and husband Gavin who is active U.S. Air Force, Jordan Murphy and his wife Sarah of Nashville, TN., three great grand children, Haddie Middleton, Kylee Murphy and Merritt Middleton.

Dude Carswell proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, and was employed as the General Manager at Bush Inc. until his retirement. He was both an avid fisherman and golfer. He served in music ministry and as church clerk at Heritage Pentecostal Church of Lenoir. He was honored as Layman of the Year for the Church of God Denomination in North Carolina.

A chapel service at Pendry's Funeral Home Chapel will occur on Monday, April 4 at 2:00 pm and visitation will occur one hour prior to the service, 1:00-2:00 pm. Officiating at the funeral service will be Rev. Joe Holden and Rev. Howard Smith. Interment will occur at Blue Ridge Memorial Park, Lenoir, N.C. following the funeral service.

Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
