Alyce Prestwood Story

Mrs. Story was born in Caldwell County to the late Rome W. Prestwood and Ruth Colvard Prestwood of Lenoir. She was also preceded in death by her brother Wilson Prestwood. She was an Administrative Assistant with the Caldwell County Schools Wrap Around Program and was a member of Whitnel United Methodist Church, a past president of the Whitnel Ruritan Club, member of the Caldwell County Schools Association of Educational Office Professionals and the North Carolina Association of Educational Office Professionals and held offices in both organizations as vice president and secretary.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband Jerry G. Story of the home; her daughters Emily L. Mikeal, Katy L. Dunn and Jennifer S. Woods, all of Lenoir; her son Jeremy L. Story of Lenoir; and seven grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Whitnel United Methodist Church with Reverend Leon Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 14, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Pendry’s Funeral Home.
