

Born in Wilkes County, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Walsh, Sr. and Mary Triplett Walsh.
Mr. Walsh served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a faithful member of Rock Spring Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William (Bill) Walsh; sisters, Florence Walsh, Annie Walsh, Bertha Walsh Laxton, Alma Walsh White, Flossie Walsh Bryant and Mary Walsh Boughman. He also was preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Walsh.
Those left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 65 years, Margie McGee Walsh of the home; sons, Ken Walsh and wife Lib, and Steve Walsh and wife Joanne, all of Ferguson; daughters Patricia Dula Smith and husband Mac, of Lenoir, and Lynette Hawkins and husband Clayton of Ferguson; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the residence on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 4:00 pm until. Mr. Walsh will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
The funeral service will be held at Rock Spring Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Roy Kanupp and Rev. Ron Burgett officiating. Burial will follow at Walsh-Triplett Cemetery.
