Bertie Frances Gill

She passed away at Caldwell UNC Healthcare.

She was born March 28, 1944 in Abington, Virginia to the late James and Pearl Wilson.

She was proceeded in death by husband Jake Paul Gill and step grandson, Roy Jacob Bryant.

She is survived by sisters; Rosa Reeves of Drexel, North Carolina and Nettie Mcwhorter of Hayden, Idaho, daughters; Rosa Bryant and husband James, Sally Mitcham, son; Wesley Gill and wife Sherri, grandchildren; David Mitcham, Casey Mitcham and significant other, Gregory Mode, Brandon Mitcham, Dustin Blevins and significant other, Samantha Small, and Cody Blevins, a step granddaughter; Jayde Bryant, great grandchildren; Bradley Mitcham, Sollan Mode, Aria Adams and Kinleeshea Blevins and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was of Baptist faith and a member of Liberty Baptist church in Lenoir, North Carolina. She worked at Broyhill Harper Furniture for 27 years and was a member of the women’s group at Liberty Baptist. She was “Nana” to a host of children and everyone knew her as “Nana”. She also had a special fur baby known as Samantha, her dog.

Serving as pallbearers are Paul Earp, Mark Franklin, Jared Robbinson, Jon Sanders, Ray Triplett, Richard Reeves, Kevin McClanahan, Steve Decker and Kailan Aubrey.

Serving as Honary pallbearers are grandsons, David Mitcham, Brandon Mitcham, Dustin Blevins and Cody Blevins.

A Funeral Service will be held at Liberty Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 12:00 pm with Rev. Dewey Bristol officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
