Bessie Ruth Key Harrison

Mrs. Harrison was born April 14, 1930 in Ashe County to the late Lee Key and Ethel Oliver key

Mrs. Harrison was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid bird and squirrel watcher, enjoyed gardening, canning and was a wonderful cook.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bascom Harrison and a daughter, Linda Morrison.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Vernon Harrison and wife Brenda of Lenoir, Brian Harrison of Cleveland, TN, daughters, Jewel Bryant of Buffalo cove, Carolyn Sessoms of Hudson, Patsy Whittington and Husband Clyde of Lenoir, Kathy Greene of Lenoir and Julie, “Judy” Ouzts and husband Glenn of Lenoir.

Also left to cherish her memory are her fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service to honor Mrs. Harrison will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Mt. View Baptist church at 2:00 pm with Reverend Jeff Hoyle officiating. Burial will follow at Celia Creek Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kelly Harrison, Mikey Harrison, Jordan Ouzts, Joe Whittington, Patrick Whittington and Calvin Harrison. Honorary pallbearers will be William Townsend, Terry Jennings and Steven Harrison.
