Mrs. Carlton was born in Wilkes County, NC to the late Walter Adkins and Nellie Hamby Adkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Powell, Helen Smith, Ann Butler, two infant sisters and a brother Clayton Adkins.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Thomas Hubert Carlton Sr. of the home, a son, Tommy Carlton of Lenoir and a brother, William Adkins of Lenoir.
A funeral service to honor Mrs. Carlton will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 in the chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.
Serving as pallbearers will be Finley Watson, Nathan Watson, Darrell Powell, Greg Powell, Jerry Taylor and Scott Adkins. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be D.L. Polk.
