Born in Watauga County, he was the son of the late Clyde Brown and Edna Earl Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Cassidy Brown; a daughter Janice Huskins; a brother; two sisters; two grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Glenda Gail Gentry and husband David of Elizabethton, TN, and Candy McDonald and husband Bill of Lenoir; a son, Bobby Lynn Brown of Jonesboro, TN; a brother, Paul Brown of Granite Falls; a sister, Betty Hamby of Granite Falls; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
There will be no services held at this time.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Western North Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215 or to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
