Carla Elizabeth Hamrick

Carla Elizabeth Hamrick, 71, of Lenoir, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Grace Hospital in Morganton. Born on June 1, 1945 in Burke County, NC, she was the daughter of the late S.C. Hamrick and Kitty Watson Hamrick.

Carla loved flowers and was known for her “card ministry”. She enjoyed spending time with her family and devoting her time to reading her Bible. She was a member of Gamewell United Methodist Church where in her younger years she was active with the Youth Ministry.

In addition to her parents, S.C. Hamrick and Kitty Watson Hamrick, she was preceded in death by and her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Sylvia Abernathy.

She is survived by her brother, Glenn Hamrick and his wife, Teresa Hamrick of Lenoir; nephew, Joseph and his wife, Heather and their children, Deklan and Whitley of Lenoir; nieces, Barbara of PA and Sharon of Hawaii; several cousins; and her loving dog, Snoopy.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 12:00-1:30 p.m. at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir.
