Charlotte Storie Miller Overby

Charlotte Celeste Storie Miller Overby passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2017 at Magnolia Lane Rehabilitation Center in Morganton. She was born December 17, 1924, to the late Colonel Storie and Ethel Gertrude Greene Storie of Aho, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Thaddeus L. Miller Sr., and Robert (Daddy Bob) Overby, four sisters; Hannah “Leigh” Canipe, Beulah Autrey, Dorothy (Dot) Winkler, and Maggie Freeman, two brothers; Roma Storie and Wayne Storie.

She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter-in-law, Shelley Debord Miller and a grand-son-in-law, Joshua Berry.

Mrs. Overby is survived by her seven children; Thaddeus L. Miller Jr., Charlene (Andrew) Whisenant, Daniel L. (Linda) Miller, Stephen C. (Brenda) Miller, Robert M. “Kenny) Miller, Bruce R. (Maxine) Miller and Roma E. (Loma) Miller.

She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.

The family would like to thank the staff at Magnolia Lane in Morganton for taking such good care of this most precious and dearly loved lady.

Services will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 3:00 pm in the chapel at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Kelley officiating. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service, from 1:00 until 3:00 pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in the Miller-Winkler Family Cemetery.
