Christine Walker Harris

She was born in Kings Creek to Mary Carlton and Isaac Walker on February 8, 1920. She married Charles Eugene Harris of Lenoir in 1950. Eugene preceded her in death. She is survived by one daughter, Cindy Harris Covington and her husband, Douglas, of Tampa, FL; she is also survived by a brother, Bobby Walker and his wife, Maude, of Oak Hill along with many nieces and nephews.

She was also proceeded in death by her sister, Iola Stallings of Lenoir, brothers Everette, Ralph, and Donald Walker all of Lenoir and Ira Walker of St. Louis, MO

Christine worked at Medical Arts Pharmacy in Lenoir for 45 plus years. She considered her work friends as extended family also. Many people around Lenoir knew her has “the cake lady”, which brought her much happiness.

Funeral services for Mrs. Harris will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the First Advent Christian Church in Lenoir. Interment will follow the service at the Tabernacle Advent Christian Church. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Pendry’s Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
