Conard Dwight Greer

Conard Dwight Greer, 80, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir.

Mr. Greer was born in Watauga County to the late Robert Dewey Greer and Julie Rose Phillips Greer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Forte Greer and his siblings, Reba Greer, Arthur John Greer, Cecil Lee Greer, Joyce Carolyn McNeil, Earlene Greer and R. D. Greer. He was a truck driver in the furniture industry and a proud veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist church and a member of the Wednesday morning Hardee’s gang.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Regina G. Hair and husband Kenneth of Lenoir, Teresa G. Chester and husband Bill of Hickory, and Melissa G. Curtis and husband Harold of Granite Falls; his grandchildren, Jessica Curtis-Yount and husband Michael, Colby A. Chester and Kenneth W. Hair and wife Jennifer; great-granddaughter, Adalyn June Yount; his sisters, Treva Barnett of Lenoir, Louise Triplett of Granite Falls, Mary Rhymer of Wilkesboro and Shirley Armentrout of Lenoir.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Reverend John Gray and Reverend Doug Woody officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The family will also receive friends and family at the home of Mr. Greer.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Greer, Jerry Greer, Terry McDonald, Larry Barnette, Claude Shew and Jeff King.

The family requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645 or Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 699 Pleasant Hill Road, Lenoir NC 28645.
