Coramae Perditha Witherspoon

Mrs. Witherspoon was born in Wilkes County to the late Monroe Ferguson and Alma Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Vannoy Witherspoon, a brother, Charlie B. Ferguson, three sisters, Dorothy Ferguson, Gailetha Hackett and Iania Jones; a son, Vernon Witherspoon and a daughter, Georgia Jean Witherspoon.

Mrs. Witherspoon was a member of Unity of Faith Church of God as a member of the choir and Vice President of Missionaries.

Survivors include sons; Billy Wayne Witherspoon and wife Oretha of Miami, Florida, Paul Witherspoon and wife Judy of Lenoir, NC and Virgil Witherspoon of the home; daughters, Betty Lipford and husband Rev. Billy Lipford, Emma Dixon and husband Author Dixon, Jr., Avalee Carlton and husband Ervin Carlton, Sharon McKinney and husband Bobby McKinney; sisters, Elree Ferguson and Theresa Howell; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A funeral service will held at Pendry’s Funeral Home Chapel, on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 2:00pm with Pastor Billy Joe Lipford, Pastor Robert Hayes and Rev. James Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Unity of Faith Church Of God Cemetery.
