David Richard Powell, 69, a former of resident of Mocksville, passed away Thursday, April 09, 2015 at Heritage Healthcare of High Point after a period of declining health. Born June 14, 1945 in Burke County, he was the son of the late Thomas and Ethel Cook Powell. He was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Powell, of Morganton and a son, Kyle Powell of Mocksville, NC.
He is survived by a son, Brian (Danette) Powell, 2 granddaughters, Nicole and Jennifer Powell, of Mocksville and a brother, Jimmy Powell of Georgia.
The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
