Mr. Phillips was born on August 26, 1953 in Caldwell County to the late Donald Edward Phillips, and Dolly Laxton Phillips, who survives.
He was a member of Kings Creek Baptist Church in Lenoir, NC.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother; his wife, Sharon Hawkins Phillips of the home, and two sisters, Donna Barnes and Diane Scarberry , both of Lenoir, NC.
Services for Mr. Phillips will be private with the family receiving friends at the home of Diane Scarberry.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
