Edward Griffin Huskey

With deep sadness our family announces the passing of beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather Edward “Babe” Griffin Huskey, 70, of Hudson, NC, who was called to his heavenly home Friday September 22, 2017.

Ed was born February 7, 1947, in Seiverville, Tennessee to the late Jess and Jessie Moore Huskey. He retired from Kincaid Furniture plant number one. He loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter up until his health declined. He loved wildlife and nature. He enjoyed telling his children and grandchildren of his Tennessee roots and family history along with other stories of his youth. He was a family man who was the foundation of our family. One we looked up to and respected for his wisdom and knowledge of life. He was a strong minded man and a man of his word.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister as follows: Gene, Harley, JD, Clinton and Creed Huskey; Shirley Pritchard Huskey.

Those left to always cherish his memory is his loving wife of 51 years, Barbara Ann Huskey; along with three children; Rodney (Kathy) Huskey, Darin (Michelle) Huskey and Jessica (George) Cleary; nine grandchildren; Thomas, Tyler and Nicole Huskey; Shelby (Roger) Fisher, Kellie (Matthew ) Haas, Jacob and Ava Huskey; Ashley and Haleigh Bare; one great grandson, Dalton Huskey and expecting two more, Maddox Fisher in October and Triton Haas in December; Sister, Helen Gallardo as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A Memorial service to honor Mr. Huskey will be held at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home Chapel on September 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Reverend Paul Puett officiating.
