

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Roland Baker, a son-in-law, Charles Fisher and a step-son, Mason Townsend.
Mrs. Townsend was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her life was dedicated to the work of Jesus Christ. She had a heart for teaching both Sunday School and Elementary School. Faye was currently a member of Mulvale Baptist Church and was a previous member and choir director at Pisgah Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Rev. Stanley M. Townsend of Lenoir, her son, Jimmy Baker and wife April of Lenoir, two daughters, Judy Fisher of Morganton, Debbie Shew and husband Gene of Lenoir, a step-daughter, Daphne Collier and husband Vince of Sarasota, FL, grandchildren: Stephanie Wilson and husband Shannon of Hudson, Chris Shew of Hickory, Emily Philyaw and husband Josh of Taylorsville, Julie Baker and fiance Josh Fender of Lenoir, step-grandchildren Casey Collier of Sarasota, FL, Carrie Koontz of Sarasota, FL, Josh Townsend of Spartanburg, SC, and Jacob Townsend of Spartanburg, SC, and six great grandchildren, Zeke Frye and wife Hadlie, Eil Frye, Whitley Shew, Chase Philyaw, Zoe Townsend and Joscelin Townsend.
A funeral service to honor Faye will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Pisgah Baptist Church at 3:00 pm with Rev. Nicky Waters and Rev. Cody Shew officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with a closing prayer by Zeke Frye.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Shew, Zeke Frye, Eli Frye, Josh Philyaw, Tony Brakefield and Josh Fender.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1:45 pm until 2:45 pm at the church.
