
He was a member of Hudson First Baptist Church where he was a past Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.
Mr. Shell was a part owner of the Hudson Drag Strip which operated for 35 years and was a landmark in the community.
He had a passion for restoring antique cars and showcasing them in the parades and car shows.
Mr. Shell proudly served our country post WWII in the US Navy.
He loved his family and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Setzer Shell; sisters, Hazel Sullivan, Marjorie Seagle, and Faye McLean; and brother, Earl Shell.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, George Gregory Shell and wife, Deborah; grandchildren, George Matthew Shell and wife, Sonya and Mark Wesley Shell; and great grandchildren, Isaac, Kaitlyn, and Kendyll Shell.
A celebration of his life will be Friday, December 16, 2016, 11:00 am, at Hudson First Baptist Church with Rev. Mack Jarvis, III and Rev. Dr. Wade Dellinger. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 am. Interment will follow at Sardis Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hudson First Baptist Church or Caldwell Hospice.
