Hardin Lee Cox

Mr. Cox was born in Caldwell County to the late Tom Cox and Susie Jane Ellis Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Boyce Cox.

He was a wonderful Daddy, loving Paw-Paw and a kind and generous man who loved making wooden rocking chairs. Mr. Cox worked for many years in the furniture industry for Bernhardt Furniture.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years Sarah Jane Cox of the home; his daughters, Sherry Cox Parson and husband Mike of Lenoir, and Rhonda Renee Brookshire and husband Greg of Hudson; his brothers, Reverend Douglas Cox and Roger Cox, both of Lenoir; his sister Virginia Esther Coffey of Lenoir; two granddaughters, Shasta Hartley and Lashaya Kirby.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with Reverend Douglas Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Ellis Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.
