He was born on February 16, 1944 to the late Harold Houser Sr. and Margaret Weimar Houser.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Saundra Ellen Houser.
Mr. Houser enjoyed the mountains and was an avid stamp collector.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Susan Chalmers and husband William of Draper, Utah; son, Harold D. Houser III of Lenoir; brother, David Houser of Bridgewater, New Jersey; and sister, Marilyn Krause and husband Robert of Aiken, South Carolina.
Also left to cherish his memory are one grandchild, James Houser and two great grandchildren, Maddox and Maverick Houser.
A funeral service honoring the life of Mr. Houser will be held on Friday. February 21, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Craven officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.
Harold David Houser Jr. was a proud veteran of the United States National Guard. Honors will be performed by the North Carolina National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard .
